Worth the Stay!

☺We spent 3 days and 2 nights at Eskapo Verde in Badian, and honestly, we wished we had stayed longer. We really loved the place - the peaceful ambiance, fresh air, beautiful views, and being away from the noise and pollution of the city.

Our 3 year old son enjoyed it so much too! He kept telling us that he wanted to come back. Since the place is spacious, he was able to roam around, explore, and enjoy the surroundings safely.

One of our favorite experiences was doing stand-up paddleboarding early in the morning along the mangrove area. It was such a peaceful and beautiful way to start the day and a great family bonding experience.

The food was also really good, and the service was excellent. Everyone was accommodating and made our stay even more enjoyable. You definitely won’t leave this place feeling sad or hungry. Plus, my son got a free mango ice cream from the owner as his birthday treat. We really appreciate the gesture.😄

Overall, we had such a wonderful experience at Eskapo Verde. It was relaxing, peaceful, and a perfect escape from the busy city. Definitely worth the money, and we would love to come back and stay longer next time! 🌿💚

☹Nothing, All good.

We had an amazing 3-night family stay at Eskapo Verde, a truly unique place surrounded by nature. It was the perfect base to explore the area (Kawasan falls, Casino Peak) while staying far away from the crowds and noise, in a peaceful and beautiful environment.

The welcome and service were outstanding — everyone was incredibly kind, helpful and always smiling. We loved the natural setting and especially enjoyed exploring the mangrove by kayak.

The breakfast and restaurant were excellent as well. Honestly, there is absolutely nothing to complain about. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back!

Highly recommended if you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic and nature-filled experience.

We stayed in one of their cottages, all I can say is that they have thought well on how each furnitures utilizes their own space, in short there were no akward unusable spaces in their rooms. They believe in sustainability, plus the owners were kind enough to explain their vission. They said that they were inspired by the raised houses of a typical filipino house.

Plus the owners will talk to you everyday, like interact with you and ask you “how was your sleep?”

Kudos to Alain, Simone, and the staffs💖

Nature Escape
Escapo Verde Lodge is one of the finest back-to-nature experiences in the Philippines! The lodge is built into the mangroves where you melt into nature on your way to the restaurant for a top-notch filipino/cosmopolitan meal. The deck of the restaurant extends over the sea where birds and local fishermen go about their daily rounds. The cabins and dormitories and walkways are elegantly crafted of local wood and situated into the breeze for natural cooling and shelter from the sun. We retreat here to do field studies in archaeology for our classes at University of San Carlos. There is a meeting room suitable for classroom use. For solo or small group escapes this lodge is superb!

Owner's reply
It was excellent to see you and your team John. Always a pleasure to host and we hope that you can continue to raise the profile of Badian's hidden points of interest.

We had such a wonderful stay at Eskapo Village!
☺ The breakfast was delicious and satisfying — a great way to start the day while enjoying the serene atmosphere. We also had dinner at their restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and generously served. It’s very convenient to have a restaurant on-site, especially when you just want to unwind and not worry about going out.
They also helped us out with our water activities and even offered us a late check out for which we were very thankful for.

☹ The WiFi was a bit slow at times and occasionally disconnected, requiring us to log in again. We raised this with the staff and were informed that it sometimes happens with certain phones. It didn’t bother us too much since we had our own mobile data as backup, but it’s something to keep in mind if you rely heavily on stable internet.

Owner's reply
Hey Crystal, we're glad you stayed with us and that you enjoyed your experience. Environment friendly lodge with clean rooms and bath.
☺ Environment awareness and the food was great. Friendly and very accommodating staff and owners. Always ready to assist and give advises to their customer. I like the cleanlines of the room and bathroom. The water pressure from the Toilette and Bath was also exzellent.

☹ The mosquito, as they like my blood :(

Owner's reply
Many thanks for you stay and review Joan. For us, a review score of 8 is well below average so we'd like to ask what more you expected from us to make your stay better? Especially at this time of year we have very few mosquitos but unfortunately it is never possible to eliminate them entirely :). Any more information you can give us will help us to improve. Thank you.

Wonderful place!
This place is beyond five stars! From start to finish our experience here was absolutely fantastic. We received such a friendly and warm welcome from Simon when we arrived, which included helping with us with our luggage and guiding us along the peaceful bamboo boardwalk. As soon as we saw the setting, we were bowled over by its natural beauty and the way that the owners Simon and Alain have created an absolutely stunning, peaceful haven. Simon and Alain's kind hospitality was continued throughout our stay. They checked in on us and offered really helpful local recommendations and advice which helped so much when planning our days. The whole staff team really make this place special. The food was phenomenal- beautifully cooked with fresh ingredients. We tried lots of things on the menu including the great range of vegetarian choices and every single dish we ate was delicious! The beautiful restaurant with its fantastic staff, food and views, made our meal times truly memorable experiences. There were many lovely gestures during our stay. For example, the kitchen team learned one of us liked a specific vegetable not on the menu - the head of kitchen found some in the local market and cooked it to perfection! It was so thoughtful. We also had very last-minute plans, bringing some additional family for a couple of days and these plans were accommodated and they were made very welcome too. The cottages were beautifully designed with so much attention to detail. They were really comfortable, immaculately clean and had everything we needed. We honestly can't recommend this place highly enough! Thank you so much to all at Eskapo Verde for making our stay such a special one.

Excellent resort
One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. This property is Swiss-run and you can truly feel the attention to detail and quality throughout. It is incredibly quiet, nestled in the middle of a mangrove forest right by the sea, with ocean access that feels almost like having your own private pool. The restaurant serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. The cottages are outstanding—spacious, solidly built from wood and bamboo, and beautifully maintained. They feature large balconies and are so well constructed that you might think they are brand new. Everything is extremely clean, and it’s clear that great care is taken across the entire property. At night, the natural sea breeze makes the fan almost unnecessary, and the mosquito nets ensure a comfortable sleep. The location is about 5 km from Moalboal, easily reachable in around 15 minutes by tricycle for 100–200 pesos. Just across the road, you’ll find a route leading into the mountains, and there are waterfalls nearby as well. I especially appreciated the peaceful setting compared to Moalboal, which can be quite noisy at night. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for tranquility, beautiful ocean views, and a relaxing stay.

Top
Water refill, savon eco responsable.

Nestled on a small limestone peninsula surrounded by mangroves and a native forest, with views of the bay, Eskapo delivers on quality, craftsmanship, design and ambience. The attention to detail from comfort to service, sustainability to plant labeled forest trails, architecture to cuisine, is unmatched. If you are looking for a quiet, unique eco-resort experience, close by the bustling Moalboal, hosted by two long time committed community members, let Alain and Simon to welcome you into their creation.

Because of its serene atmosphere I truly enjoy the place as an introvert. The mangrove is home to fireflies at night and I find it soothing to wake up to the sound of birds twittering. Pros: The perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The rooms are naturally cool and comfortable, and the whole property is a peaceful haven for nature lovers. We loved the mangroves, the sound of the waves and rain, and spotting birds, fishes and reptiles. Don't miss the seafood or the coffee shake. Everything is fresh, healthy (no MSG, less salt and sugar), and seasoned beautifully. It’s a bit of an investment, but the portion sizes justify the price. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the owner personally checks in on guests. He’s full of great local tips—just be wary of his suggestion to put calamansi on your bananas unless you're feeling very adventurous! Cons: The only minor thing was that the shower water pressure could have been a bit stronger, but it definitely wasn't a dealbreaker given how relaxing the rest of the stay was.)

Cottages are very clean and perfectly furnished, with a great fan on the roof to keep the place fresh. You'll enjoy the many birds around singing in the morning for a a quiet and ernergizing stay.

☺ cleanliness, staff & service, amenities

Ideal if you want to disconnect and recharge with nature
Stayed at Eskapo Verde and absolutely loved it. If you're looking to unplug and be surrounded by nature, this place is perfect. It’s quiet, tucked away, and feels worlds apart from the buzz of Moalboal. Great for anyone who prefers birdsong over beach bars. I left feeling totally recharged. Expect a lot of walking since it's a huge vast of land.

Wonderful escape in Nature at Eskapo
Eskapo Verde is one of the best place to stay in Cebu. Location is a good escape from the busy place of Moalbal, you can easily do your activities and be back in Eskapo for a nice retreat of the day. The place is surrounded by the sea and different types of mangrove, so you get to enjoy not just a relaxing atmosphere but definitely a diverse flora and fauna. The rooms and facilities are thoughtfully designed. Despite not having an AC - the place provides a nice wind and the rooms itself have a very good ventilation (which is sooo nice). Also, you can see that despite using a lot of wood in their rooms/facilities - it is very well kept. The staff gives a very great service and assist you the best way they can. They already have a contact for rental and canyoneering activities you can do which ensures a more worry-free stay. They also have multiple activities in the place you can do such as swimming, trekking, paddle boarding, and horse riding by the mountains. The food is 10 out of 10. The size of the serving, the view in the restaurant, and the taste is so perfect. They also have food that are vegetarian friendly. Their food provides a classic Filipino dish with a twist, and their desserts are so good!!! Such gratitude and kudos to the team (thank you too Simon!!) for maintaining and nurturing a place as good and unique as Eskapo Verde. Already looking forward to my next stay.

Great location/views, clean lodge, nice host, plenty of facilities, wildlife, value for money.
Pros: Absolutely fantastic location with scenic views of the mangroves and the sea. The staff is very nice and helpful, cooking delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner for a fair price. Simon, the host, is also very friendly and hospitable, explaining what can be done in and around the Island. He also arranged airport pickup and we were able to book a tour for canyoneering (Kawasan Falls). The kayaking at the lodge was fun too, and special, because we got a guided tour through the mangroves. For book lovers / readers, there are many places to just sit in the shade somewhere on the island and enjoy the view while reading. The Island is a bit secluded, away from busy roads. The lodges themselves are simple, but very clean. The water that is provided on the Island (through pitchers and glasses) is safe to drink and plentiful. Plenty of wildlife (birds, lizards, crabs) is in the premises which is delightful to see. I would definitely want to come back someday. Cons: If you want to go to Moalboal (or one of its beaches), you need to get a tricycle to get there (and walk to the road first, which takes about 5-10 minutes from the lodge). We already knew this when we booked.)

Immersed in nature
My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon at this stunning location, and it was truly unforgettable. Despite some initial difficulties caused by the taxi, the owners immediately stepped in and resolved the issue with great care. Here, you’ll be completely immersed in nature, staying in beautifully crafted wooden and bamboo cottages. Just a few kilometers away, you can enjoy exciting activities like skydiving, and in the morning, you’ll even have the chance to watch sea turtles. We highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay.

Owner's reply
Thank you for your review Jason, it was a pleasure to have the two of you stay with us.We should point out that as far as we know there is no skydiving available in Cebu though it may be possible with a private flying club on Mactan Island. We also don't have frequent turtles around the resort but they are very common in Panagsama Beach in Moalboal, only a few kilometers away.

Where My Heart Found Rest.（自然に癒された）
I had a truly peaceful and memorable stay at Eskapo Verde. Surrounded by nature and tucked away from the busy tourist areas, this place offers a rare sense of calm and simplicity. It was my first time trying vegan cuisine, and I was amazed at how delicious and satisfying the meals were—especially the vegetable dishes cooked in coconut milk. Every meal felt nourishing and thoughtful. I especially loved the walking paths through the mangrove forest and the quiet waterside scenery. Even without joining any water activities, I felt deeply connected to the nature around me. The staff were warm, respectful, and never intrusive—just quietly attentive, which made the experience even more relaxing. If you’re looking for a place to slow down, reset, and reconnect with yourself, I highly recommend Eskapo Verde. It’s not just a place to stay—it’s a place to breathe. I hope to return again someday.

I Liked the Quiet relaxing environment, HOWEVER, As Someome who easily gets Sunburns, I wish I would've Offered A/C.
Also dont Buy Alcoholic beverage there when you can get better ones at the store down the street for a 3rd of the price

Owner's reply
Thank you Steven, we are glad that you liked our relaxing ambiance.
We understand that you do have special needs when it comes to A/C and we are sorry that we couldn't offer this to you, Note that ceiling fans (not A/C) are mentioned in the list of amenities in our cottages.
Our drinks prices are comparable with other establishment's standard prices in the area. You will understand that a street store doesn't have the same overhead costs and don't offers the comfort of being served in a breezy restaurant with a beautiful view over the sea.

Unique to the Phillippines!
My second time here, in total I have had seventeen wonderful day and nights at this beautiful eco lodge. If you like peace and quiet, sound of birds, living in the midst of mangroves, solid cottages, wonderful food and kind people, well this is where to go.

Owner's reply
Thank you for your stay and review, it was good to have you visit and we are pleased you enjoyed your time with us. Certainly it is helpful to have transport since we are a short drive from the town, however this is what enables us to so much peace and quiet :).

Hidden gem
It was seamless- from booking until the end of our stay. We were there for 2 nights and arrived pretty late into the night but Alan and Simon were very accommodating and made sure to check in on us. Eskapo staff have also gone the extra mile to help us arrange a very last min requests regarding our transpo due to a change in our itinerary. The place is a must visit if you wanna avoid the hustle and bustle of the town and the crowd of tourists.

Un'oasi di pace
Ci siamo sentiti come a casa!!! Totalmente consigliato. P.S. la colazione è veramente top 🔝.

What a hidden gem! Glad we stopped here for lunch. Food was excellent, staff were polite and the owners were very personable.

Loved the walk through the mangroves on a custom bamboo raised walkway to get to the restaurant. Breathtaking view and reasonable price for dinner.

Relaxing but the food will take a long time to get serve because they are understaff. But the food is good, taste like home. Will always comeback to experience the view, to help the people and have a taste of their food. 5 out of 5.

Owner's reply
Hi Ed, we're not sure when you were here but we think that you arrived just after an unexpected group of 15. We did warn you that your order would take longer than normal and our apologies for that. Unfortunately in these difficult times we cannot afford to be staffed for every level of business at all times and sometimes orders do take longer. We hope that we communicated properly to you and that your meal was worth waiting for. Thank you for your visit and we hope to see you again!
